Ilka Brühl es una modelo alemana de 26 años, que desafía los cánones de belleza con una malformación facial que la hacen lucir diferente.
Ella nació con una hendidura facial y las vías respiratorias de su nariz no se formaron correctamente. Pero eso no es todo, ya que además le falta el lado derecho del conducto lagrimal.

Ilka pasó los primeros tres meses de vida en un hospital, ya que su tracto respiratorio estaba realmente expuesto. Más de 10 cirugías permitieron que Brühl respirar mejor y que las lágrimas no corran por su cara.
Sin embargo, tras superar sus problemas de salud, en 2014 decidió dejar los complejos de lado y convertirse en modelo.
“Estoy increíblemente agradecida por esta cooperación porque me ayudaron mucho. Antes de eso, tenía muchas dudas sobre mí misma, especialmente por mi apariencia”, señaló en su página personal, según consignó BioBioChile.
Además agregó que “hubo tanta respuesta positiva, que me daba más y más valor para mostrarme como soy. Genuina y espontánea”.
“Mi gran objetivo es ayudar a otros a construir una autoestima saludable. La vida es demasiado corta para dudar de uno mismo (…) ¡Nadie tiene que esconderse por su apariencia”, puntualizó.

The next two weeks a cute dog is also staying here. So the fact that I don"t see my cats is more tolerable 🐱 After a short hiking tour I"m now at the house again and can"t decide what to do first.
